Postgraduate and Research Subdirectorate
The research area was created in 2007 and since then it has worked following the guidelines of the Institutional Mission, which predominantly focuses on the training of students and the generation of knowledge and technological innovation, to contribute to environmental, social and economic development. of the region and the country.
Lines of Generation and Innovative Application of Knowledge and Research Projects
The lines of generation and innovative application of knowledge (LGAC) that are developed in the Institution have been established considering the criteria of relevance and viability recommended by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) and the Secretary of Public Education through the Program of Teacher Development (PRODEP) and the General Directorate of Technological Higher Education (DGEST).

The LGACs have been proposed by the Academies considering the needs of the environment and seeking to be associated with the academic programs currently taught at the Institution.
According to the different LGACs, different projects are being developed that seek to contribute to the solution of problems that affect the region or the country. The main projects currently being carried out at the ITSPe are listed below.
Design and construction of a service quality model, as a strategy to improve recidivism control activity in the Veracruz State Water Commission:
the project aims to develop a service quality model, as a strategy for improvement the activity of the control of recidivism, through the use of statistical control techniques and Industrial Engineering tools.
Molecular identification of the microorganisms present in microbial consortiums obtained from wetlands built in Veracruz:
this project aims to identify nitrogen and phosphorus degrading microorganisms in wetlands built using molecular biology techniques.
Effect of microwave heat treatment on the oxidative stability of an avocado paste:
the project aims to evaluate the microwave-assisted heat treatment on the oxidative stability of a Creole avocado paste.
Development of mobile applications for analysis of the mass-spring system and response of a series RLC circuit:
this project aims to develop mobile applications for the Android operating system that graph the position of the mass in the mass-spring system and another that graphs the RLC circuit response.
Proposal of gamification techniques for the loyalty of clients in MSMEs using an application for mobile devices:
the project aims to develop a proposal of gamification techniques that allows the customer loyalty of MSMEs belonging to the business of restaurants in the Municipality of Perote, from an application for mobile devices.
Optimization of the wastewater treatment process by aerobic filtration and sedimentation:
the following project aims to determine the operating conditions of a wastewater system for its optimization by aerobic situation and sedimentation.
Design, construction and start-up of a prototype of a pelletizing machine with variable density:
the project aims to develop a prototype of a machine to produce pellets of different densities from existing biomass in the Perote Valley area.
Research Infrastructure

Teacher Professional Development Program (PRODEP)
PRODEP is an initiative of the SEP that, based on the objectives established in Goal 3 of the National Development Plan 2013-2018 (Mexico with Quality Education), seeks to take the country to its maximum potential and, considers as the main strategy for Higher Education "Establish a system of teacher professionalization that promotes the training, selection, updating and evaluation of teaching staff and technical-pedagogical support."
“For this, PRODEP will strengthen and promote the empowerment of teachers to achieve optimal profiles in the subsystems that make up the country's public higher education system, and will also seek the integration and development of academic bodies that generate research of regional and national impact. In this way, greater quality is sought in the teaching staff for the benefit of the students and society ”.
The program annually convenes Full Time Professors (PTC) and the Academic Bodies of the different academic subsystems to opt for the different supports that are offered.
During 2013 the ITSPe had access to the program for the first time and the Desirable Profile of two professors of the Institution was recognized, the integration and registration of the “Biotechnology and Bioenergetic Academic Body” and the approval of three doctoral scholarships for professors who are currently studying at the Universidad Veracruzana and the Institut National de Recherche Scientific (INRS) in Quebec, Canada.
“The recognition of PTC with a desirable profile refers to teachers who have a satisfactory level of technological qualification for the educational programs they teach and that enable them to meet the demands of the productive sector. They preferably have a doctorate and carry out teaching activities, applied research or technological development, academic management-linking and tutorials in a balanced way "
